Dwarfs fire blank against champions Berekum Chelsea
Ebusua Dwarfs remained the only unbeaten side in
the Ghana top flight after a 0-0 draw with
defending champions Berekum Chelsea at the Robert
Mensah Park.

Chelsea goalkeeper Abubakar Iddrisu emerged a hero
for the champions as he stood between Dwarfs and
victory.

The home side were bent of having their noses in
front making the first incursion under one
minute.

John Arthur combined well with dangerman Seidu
Bancey before releasing Haruna Razak but defender
Prince Anokye brought him down.

Striker Emmanuel Clottey and skipper Abdul Basit
tested the solidity of Dwarfs but Black Stars
defender Rashid Sumaila held them in check making
two timely clearances.

Bancey got close to opening the scoring for Dwarfs
with a powerful header but goalkeeper which
Chelsea keeper Iddrisu pulled a great stop.

The greatest moment of offer for Dwarfs to carve
the opener arrived a minute later but Bismark
Asiedu managed to squander the chance shooting
wide from close range.

The game evolved into a battle for supremacy in
midfield.

Kwame Frimpong, Seidu Bancey and Bismark Asiedu
gagged the space in midfield limiting Chelsea’s
Samuel Kyere, nimble-footed Solomon Asante to
chasing the ball.

Returnee Nana Poku was virtually unanimous in
attack as Dwarfs cut the supplies from the
midfield.
