Eight sides reach MTN FA Cup fourth round
Feyenoord Academy continued with their impressive
form this season as the Fetteh side advance to the
last 16 of the MTN FA Cup.

Leading the standings in their zone in the
Division One League and unbeaten all season,
Feyenoord defeated Red Lions FC 1-0 in the third
round stage of the Cup competition on Saturday.

Former premiership sides, Okwawu United and Mighty
Jets also progressed after claiming claim
victories in their Round of 32 ties.

Okwawu were 3-2 winners in their away clash with
Sampa United while Mighty Jets, who made the long
trip up North to Bolgatanga, won 1-0 over Bolga
All Stars.

In the fixture at the Essipon Stadium, Metro Stars
posted a 2-1 win over Tema United, a third-tier
side.

Theophilus Boah struck the opener after 18 minutes
for Metro to finish the first half one-nil up.

Precious Naawu, who took over the Boah in the
first half doubled their lead after the break when
he scored the second goal in the 54th minute.

Tema United pulled one back in the 74th minute
through a penalty converted by Abdul Rahman
Suleman but it only served as a consolation.

Feyenoord Academy, Okwawu, Mighty Jets and Metro
Stars now join Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea,
Istanbul and Cup holders, Medeama as the sides
have made it to the fourth round so far.
