Remain Calm, We’II Address Challenges-Hearts Of Oak
Board of Accra Hearts of Oak has assured
supporters, shareholders of the local club that
plans were far advanced to hold an Annual General
Meeting in June this year.

At a press conference today, Wednesday, Board
Member Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe said at the Annual
meeting, the re-constitution of the board would be
addressed.

He asked the supporters to remain calm while they
try to get replacements for the head coach and
goalkeeper’s trainer immediately, whilst they
also undertake a general review of the club
arising out of finding the boar5d has made in the
wake of these recent happenings.

The press conference was organised following the
storming of the National Headquarters of the club
by some supporters over the mass resignation of
some technical heads of the team.

The aggrieved supporters said they are happy about
the mass resignation which has hit the club in
recent times.

Head coach Kosta Papic and goalkeepers’ trainer,
Ben Owu, left the club on Monday.

An assistant coach Asare Bediako had also resigned
before the recent resignations.

The supporters were led by National Chapters
Committee Chairman, Elvis Hermann Hesse.

They accused Hearts Board Chairman, Togbe Afede of
running the club down.

They demanded the immediate dissolution of the
board.
Addressing the media, Mt. Hesse said: “We are
demanding that the club will appoint a local coach
when it decides to appoint a successor to Kosta
Papic.

“Over the years, we have seen management members
appointing expatriates and it didn’t work so we
don’t want any more of them.”
“We demand an appointment of a new Chief
Executive Officer who will steer the affairs of
the club because we believe it is very important
in our quest to restore the club’s fortunes.

“How can a club of Hearts’ calibre go three
years without an AGM? We want the leadership to
call for one immediately.”

But Dr. Tamakloe asked the supporters to remain
calm as the Board was on course in addressing the
issue.

He said the Board has accepted the resignation of
the coach since according him [coach] ”he does
not think the players would listen to his
instructions and that we need a new coach to bring
about what he described as ”SHOCK THERAPY”,
and so considering that the players seem to have
lost confidence in him.

He also disclosed the Board met with the players
on the issue and from what they gathered, the
players complained of favouritism by the head
coach to the extent of fielding his favourite
players even if they were injured, the
inconsistency of his instructions, lack of unity
in the team and failure by the head coach to keep
a winning team.
