Genk coach Visser praises dynamic Bennard Kumordzi
KRC Genk assistant trainer Hans Visser has
described Ghana international midfielder Bennard
Kumordzi as a ‘tireless road warrior’ and
hailed his dynamic qualities in midfield.

The 28-year-old remains one of the key players at
the Cristal Arena since arriving two seasons ago
as a free agent after quitting French side Dijon.

Kumordzi’s dynamism allows him to fit perfectly
into a rotational KRC Genk midfield and score
important goals for the club.

After arriving from France, the former Panionios
man needed to adapt to the style of the Belgian
Pro League which he did with some perspicacity and
patience.

Visser reveals the Ghanaian brings something extra
to the team.

“Last year, when he came here, he sat with a
conditional behind and he had to adapt to our way
of playing and coaching, so he needed some more
time to settle. He is a super professional, always
as you need it. Bennard moreover is well aware
that he has to work and that he sometimes has to
exercise patience. I do not see any way that he
took many steps forward,” he told Sportmagazine
Knack.

“Especially European, in the away games, we used
Kumordzi something more, because we are more
office in a 4-3-3 formation. That extra
midfielder, you need at that level, the higher
speed and intensity. A silent but golden
guest.”

Kumordzi, who was targeted by Arsenal in the past
has won laurels at Genk in his two season spell as
he scored in the final of the Belgian Cup last
season and lifted the trophy.

He has also helped Genk to go beyond where they
reached in the Europa League last season.
