Top Clubs In Europe Fight To Sign Several Ghana U20 Players
Four key members of Ghana's U20 team team that
played at the recent U20 World Cup have been
caught in a transfer web as some Italian, Turkish
and Spanish clubs have made targets of a swoop for
their services.

Ebenezer Assifuah, Joseph Attamah, Moses Odjer and
Clifford Aboagye, who flew high the Ghana flag at
the just-ended FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey,

Assifuah, who won the Golden Boot as the
tournament's top scorer, has seen his stock rise
over the past few days, as Italian side, Udinese
lead an unassailable race for his services.

The youngster, who joined Liberty Professionals
after stints with Proud United in Central Region
and Sekondi Eleven Wise, has been on the books of
the Italian side after the Africa Youth
Championship where he hauled four goals in five
matches.

According to inside sources, talks have commenced
for the possible transfer of the 20-year-old
striker after the World Youth Championship in
Turkey.

However, the player with immense power in the
penalty box, has since attracted interest from
some English and Turkish clubs, but it appears
that Udinese (who signed Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu
after the Satellites 2009 U-20 World Cup triumph)
have a firm grip on the youngster.

Attamah has attracted the attention of two Turkish
clubs who have grown fond of his defensive duties,
with his Tema Youth teammate, Odjer, also on the
radar of Italian side, Chievo Verona. Nonetheless,
there are also rival interests from some
Portuguese, American clubs for the duo.

According to Tema Youth Chief Executive, Winfred
Osei Parma, there have been rival interests in his
players since the tournament in Turkey ended last
Sunday.

He confirmed Odjer, whose delightful midfield play
caught the attention of scouts in Turkey, was
destined for greener pastures abroad.

'Odjer will certainly play outside Ghana when all
this ends. He has options to choose from,' said Mr
Parma, who disclosed there were disagreements with
Chievo over the player.

Nimble-footed Aboagye, who won the Bronze Ball as
the third best player of the tournament, is said
to have also attracted interests from Udinese and
Spanish giants, Barcelona.

But the Inter Allies player told Graphic Sports he
was yet to be contacted by any club but prayed he
got an opportunity to play in Europe.
