Medeama official John Cudjoe who is alleged to have been attacked by fans of Arsenals

Berekum Arsenals deny gang attack on Medeama official
Berekum Arsenals have officially distanced itself
from attacks on a Medeama SC official on Tuesday
night in Berekum.

John Cudjoe, a Director of Operations, was
attacked and stabbed several times on the shoulder
and at his back.

He sustained several degrees of injuries and
wounds on his body

But Arsenals president Alhaji Yakubu Moro has
stated that his club had no hand in the attack.

“No one should involve Berekum Arsenals in this
attack because we are feverishly preparing to play
with them (Medeama) on the pitch and not on the
war front,” Yakubu said.

“The issue is he (Cudjoe) had gone to Kato which
is at the outskirts of Berekum to perform rituals
there.

“He was seen deep in the night around a certain
river in the Kato Township with a bottle of
Schnapps and several other items and nobody knows
why he should do that ahead of a football
clash,” he added.

“Unfortunately most of the people in that
community happen to be fanatics of Berekum
Arsenals so they chased him out after realizing he
was a Medeama official and prevented him from
soiling their river so that was what happened.”

The outspoken CEO also assured that his club would
provide maximum security as requested by Medeama
SC.

“We are ready to provide the adequate security
that they requested so that the match will come
off as expected without any incident.”

Berekum Arsenals were handed a three-home match
ban after their fans beat up a match official last
season against Liberty Professionals.
