UMB Signs agreement with NARMG to provide special loans to midwives
Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) has signed an
agreement with the National Association of
Registered Midwives, Ghana (NARMG) to offer its
members loan facility up to GHS150,000 which will
be spread over a period of 48 months.

The newly introduced UMB Controller Loan product
for the NARMG will be at a competitively low
interest rate, with a turnaround time of 48 hours

This forms part of the many financial
interventions UMB has rolled out to government
workers and customers to present them with the
needed financial support.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chief Executive
Officer of the bank, Nana Dwemoh Benneh noted that
UMB is an indigenous Ghanaian bank that believes
in supporting people or groups to properly go
about their work while they receive support
without going through stress.

“In this perilous time like this, anything we
can do as a Ghanaian bank to help some of these
groups of people to alleviate their financial
needs is a step in the right direction. And that
is why we are so proud today to announce this
partnership that we are signing” he said.

He further stated that, UMB has started giving
loans to staff who take their salaries through the
Controller and Accountant General’s Department
to come to for a quick loan without asking the
usual requirements like collateral.

According to Nana Dwemoh, the agreement between
the UMB and the NARMG is unique as a result of the
direct partnership with the NARMG.

He added that the terms and amount on offer is
favourable for members of NARMG.

“Also, as part of the agreement, UMB looks
forward to a lot of innovative products in the
areas like asset financing, investments and look
into areas like housing and mortgage. All these
will be done by partnering other stakeholders in
the industry to be able to bring this to you” he
added.

Stressing on the partnership, he said “our
desire is that you will be able to focus on your
job by bringing the future generation to life
while we focus on making sure that your lives are
made comfortable by providing you with financial
supports that will meet your need”.

The president of the NARMG, Madam Leticia Atiah
commended UMB for such a great deal.

“We followed them and we realize they have good
customer service; they are friendly and you can
access their loans in less than 48 hours and they
are all over the country” she said.

She further stated that, a survey conducted by the
association proved that UMB is a bank that can
assist the association since its members are
scattered across the country where UMB has
branches.

Nana Dwemoh congratulated the NARMG and urged all
the members of the association to take part of the
great and innovative opportunity.
