Hundreds mark Easter with health walk in Ho Ho, April 23, GNA - Hundreds of people in Ho on
Saturday participated in a health walk to mark
this year's Easter celebrations.
The two-hour event saw participants including
traditional rulers and politicians walking through
the principal streets of Ho amidst music, dance
and exercises.
Mr Frank Asempa, Executive Director of No Tribe
Foundation, a youth voluntary non-governmental and
non-political organization, which organised the
walk, told the Ghana News Agency that the event
was to encourage the adoption of lifestyles that
promoted sound health.
He said; "Health walk is better than good food and
good drink," and urged all, especially young
people, to exercise regularly.
Mr Isaac Kodobissah, Ho Municipal Chief Executive,
said though health walk was inexpensive it helped
prevent diseases such as diabetes, stroke and
blood pressure.
He encouraged young people to join the many
keep-fit clubs in the town to enjoy the benefits
of regular exercises.
Captain George Nfodjoh (Rtd), Member of Parliament
for Ho Central, who presented two trophies to the
organization for a football gala on Easter Monday,
expressed joy that the event attracted people from
various tribes.
He called for oneness among the youth for
accelerated socio-economic development.
Capt. Nfodjoh urged them to make exercising and
the observance of personal and environmental
hygiene a habit.
He advised the youth and the elderly to celebrate
the Easter responsibly.
