Construction worker crushed to death
A young man working for a Chinese construction
company at Banni Hostel on the University of Ghana
campus was crushed to death on Wednesday morning
April 20, when a cement block fell on his head.

According to a co-worker who spoke to Citi News on
the grounds of anonymity, the deceased laid under
a block cutting machine to clean the equipment for
the day’s work.

He said in the process, another worker who was
unaware that the deceased was lying there,
switched on the machine crushing him instantly.

The anonymous worker told Citi News management of
the Chinese State Construction Company are
attempting to cover-up the incident.

He accused the company of maltreating the local
workers.

He has thus asked the police to investigate the
incident thoroughly.

Meanwhile Citi News sources say the Legon Police
have visited the scene of the incident and
conveyed the body of the deceased to the mortuary.


The Police have also begun investigations into the
incident.
