Achimota hospital records more H1N1 cases
Authorities at the Achimota Hospital in Accra say
the number of recorded cases of the H1N1
influenza, also known as the swine flu has
increased.

Five cases have been recorded since last week,
bringing the total number of cases to twenty-three
(23) since Asempa News begun reporting the issue
some three weeks ago.

The Disease Control Officer at the Achimota
Hospital Michael Alexander Garr, who disclosed
this to Asempa News, said 13 of the cases were
from the St John’s Grammar School.

The rest are from areas such as Abeka Lapaz,
Alogboshie, Achimota and Tesano.

Mr. Garr said that the patients have been treated
and discharged.

He added that the ages of the patients range from
two months to forty-one years. Mr. Garr has
therefore advised the public to be vigilant.
