Radio Gold host, Kofi Okyere Darko, KOD

KOD stars in Adams Apple
Award-winning movie producer cum director, Shirley
Frimpong Manso, has cast Kofi Okyere Darko, the
popular showbiz icon known as KOD in her new
movie, ‘Adams Apples’.

KOD, a heavyweight broadcast journalist at Radio
Gold, is an events’ organizer and manages some
of Ghana’s best musicians.

His role in ‘Adams Apples’ adds another
feather in his cap as a guru in Ghana’s showbiz
industry.

The movie is produced by Ken Attoh and has a
number of celebrated persons in Ghana’s
entertainment scene who play different roles in
the movie.

Among some of them are Anima Misa Amoah, Dzifa
Glikpoi, John Dumelo, Adjetey Annag, Yvonne Okoro,
Roslyn Ngissah, Kweku Sintim Misa, Joselyn
C-Dumas, Naa Ashorkor, Vincent McCuley and a
number of others.

The rest of the cast include Helen Asante, Benny
Fiifi Ashun, Fiifi Coleman, Senanu Gbedawo and
others.

‘Adams Apples’ is a 10-chapter cinema movie
series. It is set in the hustle and bustle of the
city of Accra and its suburbs, with glimpses of
the exciting metropolis of London.

The movie follows the lives of the four
‘Adams’ Ghanaian women; the widowed,
ex-diplomat’s wife and her three daughters in
their early and mid thirties.

They work through domestic struggles, family life
and personal battles to achieve success and
happiness in a fast changing 21st century Ghana,
where love can elude the hopeless romantic,
victory can scorn the hardworking and marriage can
be an illusion. ‘Adams Apples’ seeks all these
and more from life and each other.

Each chapter of ‘Adams Apples’ will open at
the cinema every month over a 12-month period.

The first chapter will begin with a grand premiere
on April 21, 2011 at the National Theatre in Accra
and subsequent chapters released consecutively at
the Silverbird cinema till February 2012.
