Mr Kofi Adams is spokesperson for the former first couple. NDC has better chance retaining power with Konadu: Kofi Adams Mr Kofi Adams, spokesperson for the former First
Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has said that
the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC)
stands a better chance of retaining power in 2012
with her than with incumbent President John Evans
Atta Mills.
According to him, Mrs Rawlings has some advantages
over President Mills to propel her for a win with
the NDC in the upcoming elections.
Some commentators are however skeptical about Nana
Konadu’s chances of winning any election in
Ghana.
Communications Minister Haruna Iddrisu said on Joy
FM that there is no way the nation would accept
her as president.
In an interview with Peace FM Monday, Mr Kofi
Adams noted that Mrs Rawlings has a very bright
chance of winning the contest for the
flagbearership position of the NDC and to
eventually emerge as president of Ghana.
He reiterated that Nana Konadu was unfazed by
declarations in support of the president's
retention by some regional executives.
The spokesperson insisted that the former first
lady was not contesting the president for monetary
or personal gains but “because she feels she
must intervene to deal with a situation that could
move this country forward and that could assure
… NDC a needed victory in 2012…”
