BECE takes off today Over 372,826 candidates from about 10,000 Junior
High Schools will today, Monday April 11, begin
this year's Basic Education Certificate
Examination (BECE) nationwide.
Examination officials have deployed more than
1,000 invigilators for the exams.
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly is presenting the
largest number of candidates.
Seventy-six thousand, four hundred and ninety-two
(76,492) candidates are expected to write the
examination in the Ashanti region at 286 canters.
Education Minister, Betty Mould Iddrisu will lead
a team of educationalists on Monday morning to
monitor the exams at some selected canters in the
Accra metropolis.
Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Education
Service, Charles Parker Allotey told Citi News all
is set for the exams.
He urged the candidates to comport themselves and
avoid any form of examination malpractice in the
Exams hall.
“We have had word from the West African Exams
Council that everything is on course and therefore
they are ready to roll...we from the Ghana
Education Service would want to tell our children
that they should be confident when they go into
the room. We also want to tell them that there
should be no cheating because cheating is not
good”.
Meanwhile, some of the candidates told Citi News
that they very prepared for the Basic Education
Certificate Examination.
