New STMA Chief Executive confirmed
The President’s nominee for the Sekondi Takoradi
Metropolitan Assembly, Chief Executive position,
Capt. Retd. Anthony Cudjoe has been confirmed by
members of the Assembly.

Seventy members, out of the 72, voted yes in
confirmation of the nominee.

In his advice to the new MCE, the Western Regional
Minister, Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo cautioned against
partisanship in his administration, and ensure
that qualified representation is reflected in the
constitution of the sub-committees of the
Assembly. This he said would be in recognition of
the support and trust reposed in him.

He also admonished members of the Assembly to
spare the new Metro Chief Executive of
interference in the execution of his mandate.

Capt. Rtd. Anthony Cudjoe was grateful to the
President, John Evans Atta Mills for the
nomination and the Assembly for the massive
support.

He noted that the 100 per cent of votes in his
favor is a victory for the Assembly and also
recognition of the challenges ahead of them as a
united front. “Together, we will win the battle
with a common destiny” he said.

He stated that the Assembly would need a lot of
strategic planning and networking both within and
outside the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly
to achieve the better Ghana agenda.
