TTB spends over Gh¢190,000 to support deprived institutions
The Trust Bank (TTB) has over the past two weeks
made corporate donations amounting to over
Gh¢100,000 to a number of deprived institutions
in Ghana.

The bank has over the years been setting aside and
channeling a proportion of its profits for
charitable causes under its corporate social
responsibility programmes, which focus on
education and health with some attention on
socio-cultural and sporting activities.

Head of Marketing and Communications, Kasser Tee
says TTB has disbursed over Gh¢190,000 in
corporate donations and sponsorship package within
the past year. The bank’s charitable ventures
for the past five years amount to over
Gh¢667,000.

According to Mr. Tee, the bank has over the past 8
years helped improve teaching and learning in a
number of deprived community-based public schools
and supported the upliftment of health delivery
systems in some public health institutions.

Speaking at the TTB’s Corporate Donation Day
event in Kumasi, he stated that “at TTB, our
interpretation of corporate social responsibility
is the bank’s continuing commitment to behave as
good corporate citizens by conducting our business
activities in an ethically acceptable manner
towards all stakeholders whilst contributing to
the socio-economic development of the country”.

In Kumasi, two deprived public basis schools, the
Konadu Yiadom and Darko Basic Schools, received
the equivalent of Gh¢7,000 each in books and
equipment to improve teaching and learning at the
primary and JHS level.

“Feedback from most of those schools [which have
benefited from the benevolence] indicates that
students continue to gain admission into well
endowed schools ever since the bank came to their
aid. And this is what has informed our decision to
extend the bank’s benevolence to other
schools”, Mr. Tee noted.

In an interview with Luv Biz Report, Mr. Tee
emphasized the need for other corporate
institutions to reciprocate the kindness of
society by taking the business of corporate social
responsibility seriously by giving back to society
