Kweku Bedu-Addo Kweku Bedu-Addo appointed Ghana Stock Exchange Chairman The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) has appointed Kweku
Bedu-Addo as Chairman of the Exchange.
He takes over from Dr Sam Mensah whose term ended
at the GSE’s Annual General Meeting held on July
14, 2016.
Mr. Kweku Bedu-Addo is currently the Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of Standard Chartered
Bank, Ghana & West Africa Cluster 2, a position
he’s held since August 2010.
Kweku’s career has spanned Public Policy,
International Development, and Banking & Finance.
He joined Standard Chartered Bank Ghana in 2000
and rose to become the first Ghanaian Chief
Executive in 2010 since the Bank first established
a presence in the then Gold Coast in 1896.
Other senior roles he has held include Co-Head,
Wholesale Bank, in Zambia (2004) and West Africa
(excluding Nigeria (2009) and was based in
Singapore as a Program Director for a Global
Project from 2007 to 2009.
He was a recipient of the prestigious Wholesale
Bank Global Star Awards in 2007.
His current role was expanded in 2015 to Chief
Executive Officer, West Africa Cluster 2 (Ghana,
Sierra Leone and Gambia) and he is also on the
Africa - Middle East Regional Management Team.
Kweku’s affiliations include Vice President,
Ghana Bankers Association, Advisory Board Chairman
for the University of Ghana’s Institute of
Applied Sciences, Member, Advisory Board
University of Ghana Business School.
He was also the Vice Chairman of Ghana Fixed
Income Market Council, Member Global Investment
Committee, Acumen Fund, New York, and a member of
Ghana Employers Association’s Executive
Committee.
He has been on the Ghana Stock Exchange Council
since August 2015.
Mr Bedu Addo holds a Bachelor of Science degree
in Agricultural Economics from the University of
Ghana, Legon and a Masters in International
Affairs (Economic Policy Management) from the
School of International and Public Affairs,
