Dana air postpones operations Nigerian airline Dana Air’s inaugural flight to
Ghana has been postponed
According to Dana Air the rescheduling of their
maiden flight was due to upgrading of facilities
by the Nigerian aviation authorities at the three
airports in Lagos (Murtala Muhammed International
Airport, Murtala Muhammed 2 and Domestic
Airports). The airline which is looking to ply the
Accra-Lagos route and later Accra – Abuja routes
is expected to start passenger operations on
November 28, 2015 as the Ghana Civil Aviation
Authority (GCAA) has approved its operations in
Ghana. Speaking to Citi Business News Lead sponsor
for DANA air in Ghana Sukhjinder Mann apologized
to prospective passengers. //

there have been a slight delay which has to do
with reasons beyond our control. This has to do
with the upgrade of the airports in Lagos and that
is what has caused the flight launch being
rescheduled as one of the airports was going
through regional certification and that said all
is ready and we have got the green light to fly to
Ghana and the current start date is now the 28 of
November, 2015 and we had to respect immigration
procedures in Nigeria. But as I said we are ready
to fly and will fly on the new scheduled date
being 28 November, 2105.” Dana Air will begin
with daily flights from Lagos to Accra, and this
will be expanded to Lagos-Accra-Abuja flights.
Dana Air currently operates domestically in
Nigeria with flight from Lagos to Abuja, Port
Harcourt, and Uyo using its fleet of five Boeing
McDonnell 83 and Boeing B737-500 aircraft. Accra
is the first destination the airline will fly
outside Nigeria to, as it seeks to develop a
strong presence in the West African sub-region.
