Okomfour Kwadae to release new album Hip-life music's storyteller, Jerry Anaba also
known as Okomfour Kwadae has urged his fans to
expect his new album by the end of the first
quarter of this year.
Okomfour Kwadae bounced back into the music scene
more than a year ago when he released his single
track Afei Kora Na Mabodam after a four-year
absence due to an alleged mental ailment.
Speaking to Adom Entertainment News, Okomfuor
Kwadee said the album is at the studio level and
will be ready in due time.
He conceded that the Ghanaian music industry has
been competitive but was however optimistic that
his yet to be released album will stand the test
of time.
“I cannot speak more about the album but I bet
you that you’ll love to listen to it over and
over again when it comes out,” he said.
The 2007 Best Original Song/Lyrics winner at the
Ghana Music Award expressed concern about the
continuous use of pigeon English in the Hip-Life
industry.
“Music lovers were able to appreciate songs
better when local dialects like the Akan language
dominated the music scene as compared to now that
songs are composed in pidgin. I hope the trend
would change to the genesis of Hip-Life where the
Akan dialect was the main medium of
communication,” he said.
The native of Navrongo in the Upper East Region of
Ghana made a passionate appeal to the president of
MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kuffour also known as Obour to
put in place measures to unearth music talents in
the Ghanaian youth to promote the music industry
in Ghana.
“Obour is a youngman like me and I know he has a
big vision, but I wish he listens to advise from
the players in the industry and also ensure that
the union scouts for talents and train them for
posterity sake,” said Okomfour Kwadae.
