Two in bloody fight over pregnancy at Koforidua-Nsukwao
Two men have been put before the court in
Koforidua for fighting over a pregnancy, leading
to a stab.

The two accused persons are Mawuli Debrah, 42, a
spinner, and Tahiru Ahmed, 33, a driver.

Presenting the facts of the case before a
Koforidua Circuit Court, the Prosecutor, Chief
Inspector Bernard Annor explained that the two
accused persons are both residents of
Koforidua-Nsukwao in the Eastern region.

He said Debrah accused Ahmed of impregnating his
sister but failing to accept responsibility
causing ” medical implications ” for his
sister. The situation created enmity between the
two accused persons which resulted in fierce
fighting.

He said later in the evening around 10pm that
fateful day, the accused persons again met and
engaged in another fight in which Tahiru Ahmed
sustained a deep scissors stab in his chest.

Both reported the case to the Police and medical
forms were issued to the two to attend hospital
for medical treatment, where Ahmed underwent a
surgery at the regional Hospital, Koforidua.

After investigations, the two accused persons were
charged with disturbing public peace while Mawuli
Debrah was hit with an additional charge of
causing harm.

The Koforidua Circuit Court fined Debrah GHC1,200,
in default, he serves a year prison sentence on
count one while Ahmed was cautioned and
discharged.

However, Mawuli is expected to reappear before the
court for trial on a charge of causing harm.
