JHSs, SHSs Reopen Sep 8 and 13 respectively for New Academic Year
Junior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Schools
(SHSs) throughout the country will reopen on
September 8 and 18 respectively to commence the
2016/2017 academic year.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana
Education Service (GES) Rev. Jonathan Betteh who
disclosed this on Accra-based Onua Fm, advised
students to report to their respective schools on
the stated dates.

Confusion over the reopening dates for public JHSs
and SHSs in the country resulted in some rumors
which sought to suggest that the GES has postponed
reopening dates.

The situation resulted in speculations that
schools would re-open on September 30 for the next
academic term but the GES has denied such claims.

Rev Betteh has consequently advised parents and
all students in the various junior and senior high
schools across the country to abide by the dates
approved by the GES and the Ministry of
Education.
