Reverend Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah

I prophesied imprisonment of Montie 3 – Rev. Owusu Bempah
Controversial prophet, Rev. Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah
feels vindicated following the Supreme Court
sentencing of three political activists for
contempt.

According to him, he gave the prophesy of the
incident during his 31st December all night
service last year but ‘as usual it was totally
ignored by the doubting Thomases in the
country’.

“I prophesied that some people will be jailed
for speaking against the Supreme Court judges and
we prayed to stop it but people condemned me and
it has come to pass” Rev Owusu Bempah who is
also the founder and leader of Glorious Word
Ministry disclosed this in an interview on Adom
News Wednesday.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday July 27, 2016
sentenced host of Pampaso on Accra based FM
Montie, Salifu Maase and two panelists, Alistair
Nelson and Ako Gunn to four months in prison for
threatening to kill justices of the apex court.

They two together with the show host have been
sentenced to four months in prison and a fine of
10,000 cedis each.

Directors of Network Broadcasting Company,
operators of Montie FM - Edward Addo, Ato Ahwoi
and Kwesi Kyei Atuah have been fined 30,000 cedis
and have to pay by close of day Thursday July 28,
2016. Harry Zakour, owner of the frequency was
also fined 30,000 cedis.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, Rev.
Owusu Bempah urged media practitioners to learn
useful lessons from the court’s decision.

“Political commentators and radio presenters
must be circumspect in their utterances ahead of
this elections year. We have prayed against any
violence but their action can plunge Ghana into
chaos” he stressed.

The outspoken prophet was however happy with the
ruling of the Supreme Court, stating that it will
protect dignity of the judiciary and the other
arms of government.

"All politicians should take note and stay away
from commentaries that are likely to compromise,
embarrass or impugn the integrity of the Supreme
Court and all other constitutionally mandated
bodies which are dully performing their duties."
he observed.

Rev Owusu Bempah cautioned political commentators
and journalists to desist from making comments
that would compromise, embarrass or impugn the
integrity of the Supreme Court ahead of the
crucial election on December 7.
