Wereko Brobby Is Not NPP – Karbo
A Deputy Communications Director of the opposition
New Patriotic Party (NPP) says he does not see Dr.
Charles Wereko-Brobby as a member of his party due
to his utterances.

Anthony Karbo says every member of the party is
expected to act and speak in a manner that will
advance the cause of the NPP and not one which
will rather draw back the fortunes of the party.
Unfortunately, the former CEO of the Volta River
Authority is only heard when there is trouble in
the NPP, he asserted.

Dr Wereko-Brobby is serving a two year suspension
for comments deemed inimical to the fortunes of
the NPP.

“I won’t commit myself in commenting
on issues made by Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby
because his comments before and after the
suspension of Paul Afoko does not speak well of a
person who has our party at heart.

“The fact that it is a democratic world does
not allow you to hype negative vibes in the party.
I just don’t see him as a member of the
party. He is not NPP” he stated on an Accra
based radio station Thursday when asked what he
makes of remarks by Dr. Wereko Brobbey in
connection with the happenings in the NPP.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP
suspended the former head of the Volta River
Authority (VRA) in October 2013 after he openly
criticised the party’s decision to
challenge the results of the 2012 presidential
elections in court.

In suspension, Dr. Wereko Brobbey has continued to
attack decisions by the leadership of the party.

He has asked the party to extend his suspension
following the rancor that has erupted in its ranks
after the suspension of Paul Afoko as National
Chairman.
