Nana Akufo-Addo Tells EC: Scrap Current Voters Register For A Credible One
Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party,
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said the current
voters’ register must be scrapped for a new
credible and transparent one to be compiled.

He made this call when he met the UK Branch of the
party in London. He was concerned with

Ghana’s democracy which he claims cannot be
toyed with. A credible register is all that
matters and according to Nana Addo, it is
important for the country to have one so that
results declared after the election would be
acceptable to all parties without dispute.

Nana Addo said the huge disparities in votes
especially in the Volta Region and other parts of
Ghana can no longer be accepted. “We respect and
value the Volta Region but the manipulation and
discrepancies give cause for concern”, he said.

Nana Addo said it was important for all party
members of the NPP to unite and focus towards
winning the election in 2016. He said “I am
prepared to do whatever is necessary to bring
everyone on board to prosecute the agenda of
winning election 2016’ to a spontaneous
ovation.”

He also called for more support from members of
the NPP UK Branch. He said the NPP UK had done
well in the past by supporting parliamentary
aspirants to win seats like Yagaba Kubori,
Walewale and Bunkrugu in the Northern Region for
the first time and he looked forward to the branch
working in more constituencies across the country
in the forthcoming election.

Nana Addo added that he was keen for the Diaspora
to get involved in the campaign and called for
more ideas, suggestions and goodwill towards the
goal of winning the election in 2016 to which he
received a standing ovation.

Others who spoke at the meeting were Mr. Bernard
Antwi Bosiako aka Chairman Wontumi the NPP
Ashanti Regional Chairman as well as
parliamentary candidates from the UK who were
elected in the June parliamentary primaries; Mr
Eugene Antwi Parliamentary , Subin ,Mr Marlon
Anipa , Hohoe , Mr Kwame Adu Dakwa, Asuogyaman, Mr
Joseph Mackay Kumah , Sene West, Madam Veronica
Heming Bole Bamboi , Madam Joyce Dei , Bosome
Freho, Mr Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong , Mampong and
Dr Samiu Kwadwo Nuamah, Kwadaso .

The highly successful meeting was chaired by
Richard Diedong Dombo, 1st Vice Chairman of the
NPP UK Branch and ended with a pledge from him ,
on behalf of the UK branch, to do everything
possible to ensure the NPP win both the
Presidential and Parliamentary election in 2016.
