Anybody Who Fuels Confusion After Akufo-Addo’s Ceasefire Message Likely To Be Punished
Director of Communications of the opposition New
Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea is warning the
rank and file of the elephant fraternity to be
circumspect not to flout the orders of the 2016
presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo to
ceasefire.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo -Addo, last Friday has told
party activists that the task ahead of the party
is to unseat the ruling National Democratic
Congress and members should therefore channel
their resources towards that direction.

He has thus warned them to cease the needless
infighting.

He pointed out that there is absolutely nothing to
be gained from the internal recriminations within
the NPP except to provide a fertile soil for their
opponent, thus the NDC.

“None of us in the NPP should forget for one
moment that we have an election to fight and win
in eighteen [18] months’ time. We are also in
the middle of electing our parliamentary candidate
for that purpose.

“…None of us should forget that the desperate
state into which our nation as be plunge and none
of us should forget that the people of Ghana look
up to us [NPP] to rescue our nation. We dare not
jeopardize this secret trust by fruitless internal
strife,” he warned

Soon after the NPP leader’s warning, Arthur
Kennedy, a leading member of the party opined
that, the NPP’s flagbearer should have rather
condemned attempts by regional executives to
overthrow National Chairman, Paul Afoko and
General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong during his
press conference last week.

Commenting on the way forward after Nana Addo’s
warning, Nana Akomea on Oman Fm’s National
Agenda warned that disciplinary procedures will be
carried out against anyone who flouts the
directives of Nana Akufo-Addo.

“In the party we have disciplinary procedure to
punish people and so if the leader of the party
has shown the way to safeguard peace and unity in
the party, and as a true loyal party member you
speak to counter what the leader has said, then
you should understand that the party can decide to
punish you”, he stated.

“As we move forward, I believe the party leaders
will punish anybody who flouts the orders of NPP
2016 Flagbearer in accordance with the party’s
law….those who are speaking ill of the party
leaders without basis must stop”, he added.
