62 percent of Ghanaians think MPs are corrupt – Report
Sixty-two percent of Ghanaians think members of
parliament use their position to accrue wealth for
themselves without thinking about their
constituents.

Over 53 percent also do not trust in the ability
of parliament to safeguard the public interest.

These were contained a survey conducted by the
National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE).

The survey which was conducted in September 2014
and outdoored at an event in Accra Thursday April
23, 2015, also revealed that more than 25 percent
of Ghanaians believe that excessive Executive
control is adversely affecting the efficiency of
Parliament.

However, 37 percent of the respondents said they
believe partisanship helps in effective decision
making in the lawmaking chamber, while 50 percent
gave the House a less than average grade in terms
of general delivery.
