NDC woos Ashanti voters with projects
THE RULING National Democratic Congress (NDC) is
planning to embark on more landmark projects in
the Ashanti Region before the country goes to
polls in 2016 to elect a new president.

Solomon Nkansah, the National Communications
Officer of the NDC, stated that it is the hope of
the NDC that the people in the Ashanti Region
would reciprocate their gesture with more votes in
2016.

“The NDC government headed by President John
Dramani Mahama will embark on more development
projects in the Ashanti Region and we hope the
people will reciprocate the love with votes in
2016.”

Addressing a press conference in Kumasi, Mr
Nkansah stated emphatically that the Ashanti
Region was important to the NDC with regard to the
attainment of votes in the upcoming national
polls.

He was of the conviction that the best way for the
NDC to accrue more votes in the Ashanti Region was
for the ruling party to channel projects into the
area to better the lives of the people.

The NDC Communications Director recounted how the
past NDC administrations, headed by Rawlings and
Mills, developed the Ashanti Region in the area of
roads, education, water supply, just to mention a
few.

“All the landmark projects in the Ashanti Region
were done by NDC administrations. Our political
party has the development of Ashanti Region and
Ghana in general at heart.”

Mr Nkansah, the NDC propagandist, claimed that the
NDC administrations had been faithful to the
people of the Ashanti Region in terms of
development projects, noting that President
Mahama’s government was also developing the
Ashanti Region.

According to him, President Mahama will sustain
his good works for the people of the Ashanti
Region to the extent that the people in the area
will willingly vote massively for the NDC in
2016.

Mr Nkansah appealed to the media to work
hand-in-hand with the ruling NDC administration so
that the government’s projects and programmes
aimed at bettering the lives of the people could
be publicised.

Brimming with confidence, the NDC top official
predicted a landslide victory for the NDC in 2016,
insisting that President Mahama’s administration
had managed the country well and that the
electorate would retain the NDC to continue its
good works.

The NDC communicators converged in the Ashanti
regional capital, Kumasi, to strategise on how to
boost the party’s communication network and
climaxed the event with the press briefing.
