Tragedy hits Pentecost Church …Member dies in Church while prophesying
TRAGEDY HIT the Akyem Kade Central Assembly of the
Church of Pentecost on Monday evening when a
member of the Church, Christian Appiatua, 50, a
teacher by profession died in the church while
prophesying.

The body of the deceased has been sent to the St.
Dominic Hospital pending autopsy. The deceased
before her untimely death was a teacher at Oda
Islamic Primary School.

Information gathered by the DAILY HERITAGE and
confirmed by elders of the church indicated that,
on Monday evening around 8pm, while church service
was in progress, the Holy Spirit came upon the
deceased who started speaking in tongues and
subsequently began prophesying about the second
coming of Jesus Christ with a call on all to
repent from their sins and inequities to enable
them inherit the Kingdom of God.

The source indicated that while the deceased was
prophesying, she went down on her knees but later
felt down flat on her stomach in silent mood.
Elders of the church after realizing that the
deceased had kept long on the floor decided to
wake her up only to realize that the deceased had
stopped breathing.

The church elders quickly rushed her to the Kade
Government Hospital, but she was pronounced dead
on arrival. The body was later transferred to the
St. Dominic Hospital at Akwatia where it has been
deposited at the morgue.

Dr. William Duodu, Medical Superintendent at Kade
Government Hospital in an interview confirmed the
story, adding that the autopsy report will reveal
the cause of the sad incident.

Brother of the deceased, Opanyin Akomea told the
DAILY HERITAGE he was informed about the incident
by the leaders of the church a few minutes after
it happened and was told that the sister had been
declared dead when rushed to the hospital.

Opanyin Akomea stated that the deceased was not
suffering from any illness and that she was fit
and healthy and went to school every day to teach.
He stressed that the family is however waiting the
autopsy report to enable them know the cause of
his sister's death. The deceased was married with
one child.
