Kotoko coach worried about delayed start of league
Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, is
worried about the delayed start of the First
Capital Plus Premier League and has advised the
country’s football administrators to use the
current court case involving the GFA and King
Faisal as a major lesson in the handling of
football disputes.

The reigning Premier League Coach of the Year
lamented that the country’s football league was
in its current state of uncertainty because the
administrators of football underestimated the
gravity of the court action.

The coach said First Capital Plus Premier League
had come of age and, therefore, it was important
football administrators learnt to settle disputes
quickly to avoid such needless disruptions of the
competition.

“If the issue that has led to the court case had
been dealt with early and on time, we would not be
at this stage [with the league’s start
uncertain],” Dramani told the Graphic Sports in
a telephone interview, adding that the delayed
start of the league was a big worry for Kotoko.

“Kotoko, for instance, is supposed to be playing
in the CAF Champions League sometime in February
and March. Other clubs will also be playing in the
Confederation Cup and we thought we could use the
Premier League as a preparatory ground, but the
current situation is a big worry not only to me as
a coach but also to coaches and administrators of
the respective clubs,” he lamented.

He disclosed that in the interim, Kotoko would
organise some high profile friendlies to put the
players in shape ahead of the start of the league.
