Mahama moving Ghana in the wrong direction – Report
Eighty-two percent of Ghanaians believe the
country is moving in the “wrong direction” as
compared to 57 percent who thought so in 2012,
according to the latest Afrobarometer survey.

Seventy-six percent of Ghanaians have also
described President Mahama as a failure.

The report, which sampled the views of 2,400
citizens about their economic and living
conditions, also stated that 80 percent of
Ghanaians described present economic conditions as
poor.

Ghanaians over the past year, have lacked regular
access to basic necessities such as electricity,
water, medical care and fuel.

According to the round 6 results of the report,
government has failed to improve the living
standards with majority of Ghanaians, saying their
economic conditions have worsened, compared to the
same period a year ago.

The report, which was released Wednesday, also
revealed that 70 percent of Ghanaians think
government has been ineffective in disbursing the
oil revenues.

Some of the key findings in the report revealed
that 72 percent of Ghanaians want improvement in
the living standards of the poor, 76 percent want
jobs to be created, while 76 percent are crying
for prices to be kept down.

Meanwhile, 81 percent of Ghanaians want the gap
between the rich and the poor to be narrowed while
just 18 percent consider economic management as
the most important problem that must be addressed
by government.
