Philanthropist Rescues 1,000 Residents
More than 1,000 under-privileged residents in the
Nkoranza Municipality of the Brong-Ahafo Region
have benefitted from a health package provided by
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jerryson FM and
Jasta Motors, Mr. Charles Asum.

The beneficiaries, drawn from various deprived
communities within the municipality, had their
premiums paid in order to be registered under the
Nkoranza Mutual Health Insurance Scheme.

According to him, he was concerned about the
health needs of the people in the area, especially
single mothers, orphans, widows and those who were
deemed to be living below the daily minimum wage.
He therefore had to support them with an estimated
amount of GH¢10,000.

Mr. Charles Asum indicated that his philanthropic
gesture was going to continue so as to ameliorate
the suffering of the less- privilege in society.
He maintained that it was through generous giving
that one could receive blessings from one's
Creator.

Mr. Asum promised to donate to the Brong-Ahafo
Regional office of the Ghana National Fire
Service as well as some selected decentralized
departments in the region in order to resource
them to carry out their mandated duties
effectively.

Mr. Adu Poku, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of
the Nkoranza Municipal Mutual Health Insurance
Scheme, who led a team of officials to conduct the
registration exercise for the beneficiaries,
commended Mr. Asum for the gesture.

He noted that that would go a long way to improve
provide the health needs of the beneficiaries.

The PRO appealed to individuals and benevolent
corporate organizations to emulate Mr. Asum's
example, indicating that good health is a very
important ingredient in determining the wealth of
a country.

Some of the beneficiaries, mostly women, expressed
joy for having their names captured onto the
Health Insurance Register. They observed that they
were free from the challenges of accessing
healthcare in various health facilities in the
country.
