NPP Delegates Conference: NPP commends Police professionalism
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commended the
country’s security agencies for demonstrating
high sense of professionalism in the performance
of their duties in the just ended delegates’
conference held in Tamale.

The party believes the show of professionalism
largely contributed to the success before during
and after the delegates’ conference.

A statement signed by the party's Northern
Regional Chairman Daniel Bugri said if the
security services continue to do their work
diligently to protect society and treat all fairly
they would be able to win the confidence of all
and sundry.

The statement said the resounding success of the
party's conference clearly demonstrates the
commitment of the Northern Region and Tamale to
peace, security, and order.

"It also showed the rest of the country and the
world that the region is not a war zone as has
been perceived by people," the statement said.

The party conceded however that the Northern
Region, like other parts of the country has its
security challenges and it would not be fair for
the rest of the country to see the region as a
pro-violent, unsafe or no go area.

The statement said the New Patriotic Party would
want to reassure the rest of the country and the
security agencies of their commitment to peace,
law and order in other to facilitate the rapid
socio economic development of the region and to
reduce poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy
which are a common enemy of the region.

The statement urged the other political parties in
the region to show same commitment towards peace
in the area to enhance economic growth and
development.

The statement commended the Chairman of the
Northern Regional Security Council and the Metro
Security Committee, the Chiefs and Religious
leaders for the various roles they played in
ensuring peace during the conference.

It also called on the newly elected executive and
contestants who lost to close their ranks and
forge ahead as a team for the good of the party.

"We also urge the National Executive Committee to
speed up processes to ensure the party’s flag
bearer is elected by August or September to kick
start an early, vigorous campaign to recapture
power in 2016 to save Ghanaians from the clutches
of hardship, deprivation and indignity," the
statement concluded.
