Laryea Kingston backs Sammy Kuffour’s call for Kwesi Nyantakyi’s exit as GFA boss
Ex Hearts of Oak star Laryea Kingston is the
latest to call for the immediate exit of Ghana FA
boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The 33-year-old says he is in full support of a
similar call made by former Ghana defender Sammy
Kuffour who suggests Kwesi Nyantakyi has no new
ideas to offer and must go.

Nyantakyi is up for re-election next year where
all the various electoral positions in Ghana
football will be up for grabs.

While many – perceived to be in the majority –
believe the astute lawyer will retain his place as
President of the Ghana FA, there are many others
who are opposed to his re-election.

Sammy Kuffour, the ex Bayern Munich star is one of
such people who want to see the back of Kwesi
Nyantakyi who has led the Ghana FA since 2004.

Kuffour’s comments is now being backed by his
former Ghana playmate Laryea Kingston who believes
‘it is time for change’.

“I also believe it is about time the handlers of
our football make their way to the exit,” he
told Kumasi-based Metro FM.

“I agree with him [Sammy Kuffour] that we need a
change. I am with [Sammy] Kuffour is he says he
[Kwesi Nyantakyi] must step down, he has been
there for far too long.

“Most of the administrators didn’t play the
game and therefore they do not look out for the
interest of players.

“But I also blame some of the footballers
because they sell their integrity to the
administrators.

“But I believe it is time for a change. We need
to give others the opportunity to also come and
show what they can do.”

Nyantakyi’s reign has seen the unprecedented
three-time qualification of the Black Stars to the
World Cup.

His administration has however been criticized the
most for the alleged poor organization of the
league despite the massive enhancement in its
sponsorship package.
