GFA failed; covered up players' indiscipline- FA management member
A member of the Black Stars management committee
Wilfred Osei Palmer says the decision by the FA to
cover up reports of indiscipline and player
revolts in the Stars camp in Brazil is partly to
blame for the Stars' early exit.

The FA's communications team mounted a strong
denial to reports of player revolt in the Stars'
camp and singled out Joy FM and its tournament
correspondent Tony Bebli for criticism, accusing
him of fabrication.

Bebli had reported that some players, including
Kevin Prince Boateng had confronted the coach for
deploying the wrong tactics and the wrong players
against USA, a game the Stars lost by 1-2.

But the FA denied the report rather vehemently.
Days after the denial, it emerged that Kevin
Prince Boateng had a verbal altercation with the
coach and was sacked from the team's camp.

His compatriot, Sulley Ali Muntari, who also
slapped a management member after a botched
negotiation over payment of appearance fee was
also given a sack.

The Stars then lost by 1-2 against Portugal in the
final Group G game which ended any hope of Ghana
advancing to the next stage of the competition.

Discussing the exit on Joy FM's Ghana Connect
programme, Friday the once Board chairman and CEO
of Tema Youth Football club, Osei Palmer said the
strategy by the FA's communication to cover up
back fired.

He was also critical of his own management team
accusing it of being culpable.

"Definitely when you put the issues in perspective
you cannot absolve the management from certain
issues. We are also culpable.

"I have a problem, especially with information
flow. When certain things happen in camp and we
try to cover up, we try to embellish or decorate
it to the extent that this boys will sound good in
the eyes of the public, i don't think it helps
anyone of us.

"If you look at the fact that the first Joy report
that Tony put out there was a denial now
subsequently it became very clear that things are
not well in camp

"So it has to be management of information. I
don't think we manage information well," he
stated.

Meanwhile, Sports analyst Nana Agyemang is calling
for the immediate resignation of the Kwasi
Nyantakyo led management team of the Ghana
Football Association.
