Ghana FA boss Nyantakyi blasts ‘corrupt’ out going Kotoko leadership
Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has launched a
stinging attack on out-going Kotoko Executive
Chairman Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong and his management
team of supervising shady deals during their
tenure.

The ambitious Ghanaian FA leader is livid with
accusations he masterminded the exit of Dr Sarpong
from the club.

Dr Sarpong tendered in his resignation on Monday
after being subjected to verbal abuse while being
accused of being involved in dodgy transfer
deals.

The Ghana FA boss has been accused by some Kotoko
hierarchy of playing an influential role in the
decision of Dr Sarpong to prematurely end his
three-year stay at the club by revealing details
of player transfers deals during a meeting with
Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu 11 last weekend.

Incensed with the direct attack at his persona
which is believed to be fuelled by the club’s
International Relations manager, Kwame Baah Nuako,
the FA Capo has not taken kindly to the
accusations.

He has accused Dr Sarpong’s led management team
of being involved in many fishy transfer deals
which contravene the rules of the continent’s
governing body, CAF.

“What is the gossip about what I told Nana? All
those who are accusing me of revealing to Nana the
contractual details of the many players they have
transfered outside the country are just ignorant,
arrogant and disrespectful for putting me in that
angle,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM

“If I was the board chairman of the club I would
have thanked the great King for such a good advise
he gave to the club at the Palace by urging them
to be accountable and transparent in their
dealings.

“But because they know what they have done and
what their negative conscience is tricking them
look at the way they are shivering all around”.

“If they dont respect me, they should respect
the life Patron and great leader by not moving
from one radio station to the other underating the
integrity and power of the King”.

“Kwame Baah Nuako and the rest who have been
saying these things on air needs to respect people
because including myself because himself and Dr KK
Sarpong knows nothing more than I do in
football,” he angrily asserted.

The CAF executive committee member also revealed
how the current Kotoko leadership have been under
declaring the transfer monies of many of the
players they have sold to several clubs abroad.

“I was invited by the King and it was one of the
many meetings we have been having regularly. If he
asks me about the details of the transfers and so
if I am privy of then I will not lie to him,” he
said

“This is a management that transferred my own
player Ben Acheampong to Petro Atletico in Angola
and lied to me about the transfer fee but because
of my position as the FA President I requested for
the details from Angola and realised from the
contract that they have decalred $150,000 but
actually the monies accumulated to $250,000.

“If they think they are clean and have nothing
to hide then why will they be running around
throwing their hands in despair?” he asked.

Dr Sarpong chalked many successive both on and off
the field for the club during his three-year stay
but the constant allegations of financial
malfeasance is what has broke the camels back.
