Veteran actor William Addo slams Tourism Minister
Veteran actor William Addo aka "Akpatse" has taken
a tumultuous swipe at the minister of Tourism,
Culture and Creative Arts Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu -
Adjare.

A month ago,the veteran actor ",Akpatse",
revealed that he was gradually losing his sight as
a result of glaucoma and cataract thus he needed
Ghc5,000.00 for immediate surgery through which
Bola Ray,Kwame Sefa Kayi, and other benevolent
people went to his aid and was able to undergo a
successful first surgery on the left eye.

Since glaucoma and cataract affect both eyes, the
veteran actor,Akpatse again revealed that he
needed another Ghc5,000.00 to undergo the second
surgery on the right eye.

According to Akpatse, the minister Mrs. Elizabeth
Ofosu-Adjare is extremely fumed at him and said he
(Akpatse) is using his predicaments to extort
monies from people.

Akpatse ,which literally means a trickster in the
Ga language, further indicated that the Minister
said she doesn't comprehend why he is still
soliciting for more funds though he has received
donations from many kind hearted people.

In an inspired interview with Ebenezer Anderson
aka Dr.Who on "Hot Rush Hour" drive time show on
Hot 93.9Fm in Accra,the veteran actor ,Akpatse,who
was very much in grief explained why he is
extremely disappointed in the minister:

"Erm..my brother, Dr.Who,I went to the Minister
Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare and told her I needed
to undergo a surgery, she and her ministry
couldn't help me so if am soliciting for funds
from the general public what's her problem? It's
true that Bola Ray, Sefa Kayi and other benevolent
people donated some cash to me but honestly, some
of the people are yet to fulfil their pledges",
Akpatse told Dr.Who in grief.

"Both surgeries are costing me Ghc
10,000.00...and the doctor says I will buy
medicine at the cost of Ghc500 which is 5 million
old Ghana Cedis every month till I die else I
would totally go blind. So Dr.Who ,as you can see
the money donated to me can't cater for all these
expenses. Now because of my situation I can't work
and the ministry is also not ready to help me so
why is the minister Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare so
fumed at me? This is a ministry I helped so why
can't they also help me?Dr.Who ,seriously am very
disappointed in her...i still need money so if she
can't help me she shouldn't say am using my
present situation to extort monies from people
",Akpatse added.

William Addo aka Akpatse said he is currently
responding to treatment and scheduled to undergo a
third review in two weeks time on the left eye
which would ascertain the date for the second
surgery on the right eye.
