‘My Son Was 30 Ten Years Ago’ – Asamoah Gyan’s Dad Alleges
Ghanaian professional footballer, Asamoah Gyan, on
November 22, 2015, celebrated his 30th birthday in
grand style at his $3 million ‘La Basilica
de Baby Jet’ mansion.

The festivity, which marked a great day in the
life of the Shanghai SIPG’s striker, was
well-attended by high profile personalities.
During the celebration, the Black Stars’
captain announced his age – claiming he was
30 years old.

However, Mr. Bernard Kwaku Gyan, father of Asamoah
Gyan, says his son is throwing pure brown dust
into the eyes of the public.

According to him, he was extremely shocked when
his son announced he had just turned 30. He
therefore advised the public not to pay attention
to what his son said because there’s no
iota of truth in it.

“Don’t mind him. He’s just
saying what he feels. Actually, he turned 30 ten
years ago. I know what I’m talking about
because I gave birth to him. This is a clear case
of the Cedi – Dollar relationship. I have
no idea why his ‘football age’ keeps
depreciating against his real age like that. The
Ghana Football Association (GFA) must set up a
commission of inquiry to critically look into
this,” Mr Kwaku Gyan said.
According to him, he nearly took the microphone
from Asamoah to announce his real age during the
event.

“I couldn’t help it when he announced
he was 30. I got up on my feet, wanted to walk up
to him and tell him to speak the truth and be
free. Once again, nobody should mind him,”
Mr Gyan added
