Sackey Bows Out…After 12 Successful Years In Parliament
After 12 successful years of dedicated service to
the people of Okaikoi North, Hon. Elizabeth
KwotsoSackey is taking a bow from frontline
politics.

The God fearing and senior member of the Church of
Pentecost was first elected in 2004 and she later
won the 2008 and 2012 parliamentary elections on
the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking in an interview with The Publisher, the
former member of ECOWAS Parliament said it was
time to move on and allow others to take over the
leadership of the party in the constituency which
has been voting for NPP since 1996.

“Our constituency has a number of competent
people capable of steering the affairs of the
party to the next level.

“I have served the party and my heart is at
peace with the decision to step down from the
frontline and I have the strong conviction that
delegates would elect a dedicated person who will
work hard for next year’s general election,
which Nana Akufo-Addo must win to implement the
good policies he has for Ghanaians,” Hon.
Elizabeth Sackey stated. She also called for an
end to internal bickering especially among party
executives at all levels and go into the 2016
election with one goal which is victory for the
NPP. “There is no doubts that the NDC under the
late Prof Mills and now President John Dramani
Mahama has failed to fulfilled the aspiration of
the people and come 2016, they would be voted
out, but political experiences have shown that no
political party has won any election with a
divided front," she noted

Majority of Ghanaians are not blinded to the
numerous socio-economic crisis facing them, but
that alone cannot secure victory for the NPP
party, if we are not seem to be united.

The only vehicle that would cruise the NPP to
victory come 2016 is unity and all members of the
party, particularly the executives must work
towards assembling all aggrieved members and
tapping into their rich experience. Hon Sackey
also pledged her support for the orphan
constituencies and urged all liked –minded
people in the party to be board to help candidates
who be elected in all the orphan areas.

"Our party needs more seats in parliament to
ensure that Nana Addo’s program that he has for
Ghanaians when he assumes office is not hindered
by the NDC minority in 2017," she said
