George Andah Faces NDC's National Organiser
An executive of pressure group, #OccupyGhana and
former head of marketing for Guinness Ghana,
George Andah has described as laughable claims
made by National Organiser of the ruling National
Democratic Congress (NDC) Kofi Adams that the
pressure group is pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Kofi Adams reacting to Mr Andah’s decision to
contest for the Awutu Senya seat on the ticket of
the NPP come 2016 said the latter’s decision
shows the ‘hypocrisy’ of #OccupyGhana, a group
which claims to be non-partisan.

According to him, “it is obvious they don’t
have principles...we (NDC) know that #OccupyGhana
is a creation of the NPP to prosecute a campaign
for them but it won’t happen because Ghanaians
have seen them”.

But reacting to this in an interview on
Tuesday’s edition of ‘Kokrokoo’ on PEACE FM,
Mr Andah said he will rather treat the statement
with the contempt that it deserves and focus on
the task ahead of him.

He is of the view that his association with
#OccupyGhana has rather prepared him mentally and
that the Constitution of Ghana should mandate
anyone who wants to contest for any political seat
in the country to join “#OccupyGhana”

“It is laughable. At the end of the day, Ghana
is the hero that we all know. Whatever we do is
for God and country. #Occupyghana is pushing for
good governance and economic management. Whether
you are NPP or NDC you should be able to know when
something is right or not. I feel that my
association with #OccupyGhana has prepared me in
terms of mindset; as to the kind of political
terrain and the issues that we need to address in
this country….we have given praise to the NDC
government on a number of occasions…

…I even feel that it should be included in the
constitution of Ghana that anyone who wants to
contest for a political office must be a member of
OccupyGhana so that he can be taken to task on his
principles, actions and inactions. I will focus on
the task ahead of me…I am not going to waste my
time on this distraction that OccupyGhana is NPP;
when we know OccupyGhana is not NPP. It is a bit
disappointing that we see everything on partisan
lines. I would wish that we do things in Ghana for
Ghana but I think we should rise above all these
and put Ghana first,” he said.
