Sim box fraud bust: Subah not superhero – Sakyi Addo
The CEO at Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications,
Kwaku Sakyi Addo has bemoaned reports in the media
suggesting that telecom companies in the country
are complicit in the recent Sim box fraud bust
aided by IT Company Subah Infosolutions.

According to him, such reports are misleading and
do not reflect the real developments on the
grounds.

An ex-president of the Ghana Real Estate
Developers Association (GREDA), Dr Alexander
Tweneboah, was on Monday arrested for sponsoring
the activities of SIM box fraudsters.

Subah Infosolutions which had come under fire in
the recent past for some alleged shady dealings
was key in the arrest. They have subsequently been
commended by many social commentators for their
role.
But speaking on Radio Gold Wednesday, Sakyi Addo
said the praise singers of the IT Company must be
circumspect.

“I do understand why Subah appears to be
dwelling on this matter, it’s not necessary but
I need to correct the impression that mobile phone
companies are doing something wrong and Subah is
the hero that has just saved the day,” he told
Radio Gold.

According to reports, the nation has lost as much
as GH¢107,495,000.00 (about $33.6 million) to
activities of the recently arrested SIM box
fraudsters.
