Rawlings, Danso-Boafo resolve book differences, launch to proceed Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings and Ghana’s
former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom,
Professor Kwaku Danso-Boafo, have finally settled
their differences arising out of a publication of
a book on the former.
The amicable resolution of the misunderstanding
between the two finally allows Prof. Danso-Boafo
proceed with the launch of his book; “J.J.
Rawlings and the Democratic Transition in Ghana,
”.
An Accra Fast Track High Court heard Friday that
both men have agreed terms, a copy of which has
been deposited with the court.
Among other terms, Prof. Danso-Boafo, has
acknowledged areas of concern raised by Rawlings
in the book and will address same in the next
edition.
Former president Rawlings went to court in August
to place an injunction on the launch of the book.
The former president of Ghana argued that the book
contained inaccuracies, misinformation and slants
which have the potential to poison Ghana’s
historical records and democratic evolution, hence
the High Court should restrain the author from
going ahead with the launch.
According to the ex-military officer, the author
breached his own solemn undertaking with him and
went ahead with the publication. Source - Starrfmonline
