Akufo-Addo rallies all and sundry to kick out "incompetent" Mahama After a sweeping sweet victory in Saturday's
presidential primary, Nana Akufo-Addo says he is
challenged by the great confidence reposed in him
by the party delegates and will do everything
humanly possible to bring the New Patriotic Party
back to power.
Flanked by the losing candidates Alan Kojo
Kyeremanten and Addai Nimoh, the three time
presidential candidate in a victory speech rallied
all and sundry within the party to work together
for a famous victory in 2016.
Akufo-Addo polled 117,413 of the total ballot cast
representing an overwhelming 94.35 per cent the EC
Director of elections declared, late Saturday
evening.
Alan Kyeremanten managed a paltry 5,908 votes
representing 4.75 per cent and the underdog Addai
Nimoh remained just that, with a surplus 1,128
votes representing 0.91 per cent.
In the run up to the election many accusations and
counter accusations were made especially between
the two leading contenders- Nana Akufo-Addo and
Alan Kyeremanten.
Some political pundits have been quick to point
out the seeming factionalism that attended the
elections and have sought to suggest those cracks
may well hamper the chances of the party in the
2016 elections.
But Nana Akufo-Addo promised a united fight
against the NDC in 2016.
"We will cooperate and work together," he said,
adding, they have a "sacred truthful duty" to
"relieve Ghanaians from the unjustifiable
hardships" imposed on them by an "incompetent
Mahama government."
"We will do the work of Ghanaians with
integrity..." "we have the men and the women who
can do the job."
He said Saturday's victory is an "enormous
responsibility on his modest shoulder" but with
the "continued blessings of God on Ghana, the NPP
and myself," we shall overcome, he said to a
thunderous applause to the multitude that had
poured the Efua Sutherland park to witness yet
another Nana Akufo-Addo coronation as presidential
candidate. Source - Joy News
