Nkroful Residents Worried Over Killer Adamus Resources

CONCERNED CITIZENS OF NKROFUL,

NKROFUL, ELLEMBELLE.

THE PRESIDENT,
EASTERN NZEMA TRADITIONAL COUNCIL,
ATUABO, ELLEMBELLE.

Awulae,

NEED FOR STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING TOWARDS
UNDERSTANDING OF THE RECENT HOUSE-NUMBERING
ACTIVTIES OF THE ADAMUS RESOURCES LTD (ENDEAVOUR
CORPORATION) IN THE NKROFUL COMMUNITY.

As a concerned group, we wish to implore you to
use your outfit as the traditional head of our
land to create the needed platform for information
sharing among stake holders in relation to the
above, to avert any untoward circumstances which
may emanate from the inadequate information
characterizing the recent activities of the above
company.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Following several meetings by our Chief Nana
KwasiKutuah V and Elders (including Assembly
members) with the District Assembly Management, it
was made clear that for the District Assembly to
lift the embargo it has placed on the giving of
building permit to some part of the Nkroful
community, the Adamus Resources Ltd (ARL) has to
be allowed to demarcate its buffer zone.

From Saturday 19th July, ARL commenced the
supposed buffer zoning exercise however with some
other activities which are creating anxiety, fear
and panic among our people. The household
ownership information and the taking of
photographs of property owners and the filling of
some forms, are feared by us, as the beginning of
a process which will culminate in the resettlement
of the people leaving in the affected area of the
community.

Meanwhile, several discussions with the Assembly
members indicate that the Company had a meeting
with our Chief and some Elders of the Nkroful
Community resident in Accra relating to the
on-going exercise. Our Chief however upon
receiving the report from one of our Assembly
members, regarding the things being done beyond
the buffer zone ordered for the exercise to be
stopped. Unfortunately, the Company is still going
on with its work.

The Chief, Nana KwasiKutuah has not yet come to
let the community understand in detail, what
constitute the Accra Accord.

In the wake of the several youth groups agitating
and pressuring the Assembly Members to step aside
and allow them confront the Company on the
Exercise; and when the Assembly members seem to
have no answers to such pressures, write to bring
this menace to your notice, hoping for a plausible
solution.

In anticipation that your outfit will attach to
this letter, the needed urgency it deserves, we
thank you very much in advance.

Sincerely yours,
