Even Jesus Christ cannot transform Ghana if… Nunoo-Mensah
Head of the Human Security Department of the
National Security Council Secretariat,
Brigadier-General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah says he has
been having sleepless nights over what he
described the moral decadence in the country.

According to him, people in high office have
thrown morality to the dogs and are seeking
self-interest at the expense of the ordinary
Ghanaian.

“Ghana is a nation of sick people; we need to
seek urgent treatment” he bemoaned.

Brigadier-General Nunoo-Mensah made the comment on
Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme Friday, whiles
discussing the unbridled hardships in the
country.

Many especially the opposition political party
have blamed the governing National Democratic
Congress (NDC) for the socio-economic hardships in
the country.

They cite among other things the unbridled
corruption and incompetence on the part of
President Mahama and his appointees as the cause
of our woes.

The opposition parties led by the New Patriotic
Party (NPP) are therefore calling on Ghanaians to
vote out the NDC in the 2016 elections.

But Brigadier-General Nunoo-Mensah on Ekosii Sen
vehemently disagreed with the assertion adding
that the Mahama –led administration has done it
best.

In his view, the worsening economic conditions
Ghanaians have been plunged in was caused by
successive governments including the NPP.

The former National Security Advisor noted that
Ghanaians are our own enemies because “we are
not patriotic anymore”.

“E ven if Jesus Christ is made president and we
done change our attitude, he cannot transform
Ghana” he stated.

Brigadier-General Nunoo-Mensah said until
Ghanaians do a critical introspection and change
their attitudes towards nation building, “we
will continue to wallow in abject poverty.
