Kofi Adams to quit as spokeman for Rawlings
The Deputy General Secretary of the ruling
National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr Kofi Adams
who also doubles as the official spokesperson for
former President Rawlings has hinted he will quit
his position as the official spokesperson for the
former president to enable him serve the NDC fully
and help it to retain power come 2016.

Mr Kofi Adams who is aspiring to become the next
National Organizer of the NDC disclosed this
during an interview on Osibisa Radio’s Policy
Focus Show in London. Responding to a question
posed by a caller into the programme. Mr Malik
wanted to know how he was going to manage his
present job as a spokesperson for the former
president and that of the office of national
organiser if given the nod by the delegates come
October.

He said, unlike his current position as the Deputy
General Secretary which involve more of
administrative work it was much easier to combine
the two jobs very efficiently and effectively.
That will not be the case when elected as the
National Organiser he added.

He said, as the organiser of a party, “you are
the field marshal of the party”, this coupled
with “my vision of moving the office of the
National Organiser from the headquarters in Accra
as it exist now to the grassroots level” will
require his personal presence more of the time in
the communities where the job of a party organiser
really is “I will therefore give up my position
as the official spokesperson for the former
president Rawlings and I am very sure former
president Rawlings will understand the new
dynamics and support my decision and vision for
the NDC”.

He however pointed out that, each and every NDC
member and all those who believe in the principles
of the NDC and the core values on which the NDC
was founded are in principle spokespersons for the
former president - “Each and every NDC member is
in principle a spokesperson for President
Rawlings” he emphasised.

He said, the current National Organiser has done a
very good job for the party but the current
political climate needs a natural team builder and
hands-on person like him to help NDC retain power
in 2016.
