DFP Organiser Unmasks Obed Asamoah

DFP unmarks Obed Asamoah
The loyalty of Obed Asamoah, Life Patron of the
Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) to the National
Democratic Congress (NDC), has been questioned by
a member of his party.

According to the Volta Regional Youth Organiser of
the DFP, Wisdom Deafemekpor, the party as a whole
has not agreed to join the ruling NDC because no
one was consulted before Obed Asamoah switched
camp.

He said “As far as I am concerned, no congress,
meeting or negotiation was made by the DFP before
Obed defected to the NDC.”

He added that Obed’s move to the NDC does not
represent the stance of the entire DFP party since
it is rather “Obed’s personal decision.”

He also warned the NDC to be cautious about its
“prodigal son,” noting, “this prodigal son
has not changed one bit” but is a wolf in sheep
clothing.”

Wisdom Deafemekpor alleged that “Obed
Asamoah’s defection is a curse to the NDC
because it is part of a calculated attempt to
throw the NDC into opposition.”

According to him, the life patron of the DFP, who
has openly pledged his allegiance to the NDC,
should be carefully watched because he has been in
bed with the opposition National Patriotic Party
(NPP) for a long time and therefore his defection
is a recipe for doom in the NDC.

“During the 2008 run off, Obed personally called
me, the regional youth organiser to ask all
constituency organisers to work, vote and align
ourselves to the NPP, which we did. I challenge
him to deny that this is not true.” Mr.
Deafemepkor indicated.

“Obed said he had been given money by the NPP so
that we work for them. All the money we used to
fuel our vehicles during the runoff was from the
NPP and that is what Obed himself told me.”

The fuming youth organiser could not fathom why
Obed suddenly decided to join the NDC, adding,
“If the NPP had won then, would he go back to
the NDC in opposition?”

He added that Obed is just an opportunist and
chameleon who will stop at nothing to satisfy his
greedy desires and lust for money and power.

The DFP organiser, who was a cadre during the
revolution and a staunch member of the NDC before
he defected to the DFP said, “I am not surprised
that less than a week after Obed openly defected
to the NDC, there have been total confusion and
anarchy in the party.

“Asamoah is only using the DFP as a party to
make money, which he made from the NPP in 2008 and
now wants to make from the NDC in the run up to
next year’s elections.”

Mr. Deafemekpor advised the NDC to boot Obed out
before he destroys them and brings them back to
opposition.
