Kotoko Players Demand Salary Increase Ahead Of Start Of New Season
Players of Ghanaian giants Kotoko are not happy
about the salaries and other bonuses they receive
from management, a report in the Daily Guide
claims.

The players want an improvement in their salary
conditions next season so they have petitioned
management over the matter.

A source close to Kotoko, who divulged this
information, said the players also want their
winning bonuses to be increased in the coming
season.

He said the players in their petition to
management raised six key issues, one of which was
that they want the remaining amount of their
enticement fees to be settled in full.

The Kotoko players also lamented over the
management's inability to fulfill its promise of
rewarding the players with cash over the last two
league triumphs.

He disclosed that the Kotoko players said they
were willing to go all out for the club this
season, so the least management should do was to
see to their needs.

Meanwhile, Kotoko have travelled from Kumasi to
Tamale for their pre-season training. The players
and technical team left the Baba Yara Stadium on
Wednesday in the morning. Ideally, Kotoko were
supposed to make the trip on Sunday, but it was
postponed at the eleventh hour.

The pre-season trip was again postponed twice in
succession to the chagrin of the vociferous
supporter of the club.

Speculations that made the rounds in Kumasi were
that Kotoko were facing financial problems, hence
the continual postponement of the trip. Finally,
the Kotoko team was able to make the trip on
Wednesday morning to prepare for their league
title defense.
