The polling agents have ordered the Kwabre East NHIA manager to resign immediately.

Threats against Kwabre East NHIS manager wrong – NPP
The National Health Insurance Manager, of the
Kwabre East district Mohammed Kamal Hassan have
been ordered by some New Patriotic Party(NPP)
polling station executives to resign immediately
or face their wrath.

The party members accused him of flouting the code
of conduct of public officers as enshrined in the
constitution after he actively engaged in the
NDC’s campaign for re-election last year.

But the NPP executives in the Kwabre East have
condemned the acts saying the polling station
executives erred by not using the right channel to
address their grievances.

The Constituency Secretary, Opoku Agyemang-Bonsu
told Accra-based Citi FM in an interview that the
party does not condone indecent and irrational
behaviour of party members insisting that the
action by the polling station executives was
wrong.

“What I have to say is that, it’s a wrong
procedure they’ve followed because they should
have petitioned us(Executive body) and we would
have gone through the petition and after we have
known what they are saying have merits, then
we’ll write on behalf of them to the appropriate
quarters. You see we are not like the NDC who were
chasing people from their offices with cutlasses
and all that. No! this is a respected party, led
by a respected lawyer, Nana Addo Dankwa
Akufo-Addo. So we must do things as must be done.
Even their petition, they didn’t have telephone
numbers on it. Those people purported to have
written the petition, who they claim to be polling
station executives, their telephone numbers
aren’t there for anybody to call and check up
whether it’s even true. So the whole procedure
is wrong. It could be that the person did that, so
we have to investigate from our outfit and
know.”
