Disaster! Tree kills 20, injures 30 revelers at Kintampo Waterfall
Twenty people are confirmed dead and about 30
others injured at the Kintampo Waterfall in the
Brong Ahafo Region where a tree has fallen off the
top of the waterfall to the ground.

Several others are feared trapped and personnel
from the Ghana National Fire Service and the
Police have arrived at the scene to rescue the
victims.

The deceased are believed to be mostly students
from the Wenchi Methodist Secondary School who
were on an excursion to the famous waterfall at
the time of the incident.

The Kintampo Police, which confirmed the late
Sunday afternoon accident to TV3 correspondent
Larry Paa Kwesi Moses said the injured have been
sent to the Kintampo Municpal Hospital for medical
attention.

A storm was said to have caused a huge tree on top
of the waterfall to drop down the ground of the
fall where revelers were swimming.
