Kwabena Bobie Ansah

Akufo-Addo directed national security to arrest me & seize my car – Bobie Ansah
Controversial radio host and social commentator,
Kwabena Bobie Ansah has alleged that President
Nana Aufo-Addo ordered some national security
operatives to storm his Accra residence and arrest
him.

Bobie, an unapologetic critic of President
Akufo-Addo further alleged that the President
directed the security operatives to storm his
house and seize his personnel vehicle, which was
erroneously believed to be a state vehicle.

According to him, he was waylaid and taken to the
Osu Castle by the security operatives for about an
hour after which his car was seized with its
documents.

Speaking to Accra-based Montie FM after the
alleged incident, Bobie said “I bought my car
from Erata Motors but if they (security
operatives) want to have it as part of their
vehicle pool, I’m prepared to leave it with them
as part of my contribution to the state.

“If they also want to give the vehicle to Nana
Addo’s first daughter Gyankroma to use, it is
fine with me because she is also a Ghanaian. I
leave it to them,” sarcastically he said.

Narrating what he described as political
witch-hunting, Bobie said he saw some well-built
people in national security Vehicle around his
residence.

“My place is a quiet area and I suspected they
were coming for me so I decided to swerve them.
However, they approached my security at the gate
and said they tipped me off. The national security
operatives also said Nana Akufo-Addo asked them to
come and arrest me.

“I did not understand why Nana Akufo-Addo will
want me arrested. I don’t know whether he wants
to listen to my music because he is bored….. The
national security operatives also said a complaint
was lodged at the police station against me for
keeping a state vehicle in my house,” Bobie
retorted.

According to him, he later reported at the Police
Station but the Police officers there held and
dragged him with his legs hanging like an armed
robber.

“I told them I am not a government employee and
therefore I did not have any state cars with me.

“I asked if supporting John Mahama means you are
a government employee. They struggled with me and
demanded to have my car documents, which I
obliged.

“Thereafter, they took me straight to the Osu
Castle and after having their meetings for about
an hour, they took me back to my house with the
claim that I was keeping state vehicles in my
house although I cannot park more than one car in
my yard. Yet, they went and searched my house but
did not find any vehicles."

“They seized my car with its documents.
Thereafter, a gentleman told me he was in charge
of the state vehicles and that he will call me
later.

I told them that they could even carry my room
furniture if they felt the furniture belonged to
the state.

Asked if he has been treated fairly or not, Bobie
retorted it was for Ghanaians, President
Akufo-Addo and his security operatives to judge.

“My brother I’m telling you let me say this
and say it again, we are aware of some
imachinations (sic).

We are aware, we know what President Akufo-Addo
wants to do, he has only four years to govern and
he will do whatever he can to prosecute his
political opponents,” Bobie alleged.
