Election 2016: APC suspends campaign Disqualified presidential candidate for the All
People's Congress (APC) Hassan Ayariga has
suspended campaigning as presidential nominee for
the 2016 December polls.
The move, according to him, is to pave way for the
court to clear him of all the claims leveled
against him by the Electoral Commission.
Mr. Ayariga, however, added he will only campaign
for his parliamentary candidates across the
country.
Addressing a press conference in Accra Thursday,
Mr. Ayariga said: “I will not campaign for
myself but I will continue to campaign for my
parliamentary candidates until justice is
delivered.
"I will not sit at home, neither will I sit in the
office, I will go round the whole country to
support my candidates to win the elections and
their seats”.
Mr. Ayariga further appealed to the judges of the
Supreme Court to look into the issue "very well"
to avert chaos ahead of the December polls.
“I appeal to all the judges to look into the
matter very well so that the EC does not plunge
the country into chaos and discourage our voters,
it’s not about me, but the rule of law which I
believe in and I believe in multi-party
democracy”. Source - Starrfm
